Once again, the industry-leading productivity of RE/MAX® agents is on full display in RISMedia’s 2012 Power Broker Report, released in April, 2012.
Within the 45 RE/MAX® offices listed, RE/MAX® agents average 15.1 transaction sides each – by far the highest number in the most meaningful metric of agent productivity.
Realty Executives trail with 12.5 sides per agent, followed by Coldwell Banker (10.4), ERA (7.5), and Keller Williams and Century 21 (7.3 each).
Additionally, RE/MAX® tops the list in average agent sales volume, with $3.2 million. This is nearly $1 million more than the next closest competitor, luxury specialist Sotheby’s (2.4 million). Realty Executives ($2.3 million), Prudential ($1.95 million) and Coldwell Banker ($1.9 million) rounded out the top five.
The 2012 report ranks the top 300 brokerages based on transaction sides, as compiled from 2011 data.

I was recently selected to take part in the Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program (TRLP). TRLP offers participants the opportunity to meet other motivated leaders and to share an intensive learning experience that focuses on community issues and leadership skills. The program provides participants with lectures, seminars, guest speakers, group discussions, and leadership exercises that address vital issues affecting REALTORS®.
Along with the other 19 members of Class 7, I attended a kick-off retreat at the Lakeview Camp and Conference Center in Waxahachie, Texas. This two-day retreat was packed with team building exercises and some solid information about the REALTOR® family and leadership.
The highlight for me, was the High Ropes Challenge Course. In many ways it reminded me of going through the Air Force Basic Training Confidence Course except this course required total teamwork to complete the challenges. It was fun to watch a group of strangers come together as a team to accomplish the tasks.
Of course I was 18 when I went through Air Force Basic Training, I’m over 50 now and slept very well after spending about 5 hours on the High Ropes course!

By Tom Branch, on February 5th, 2012 Well, today is the final day for NFL football. Like many people, we’re spending the afternoon and evening with friends and family watching the game. I’m a huge fan of guacamole and have been asked to share my recipe.
Tom’s Superbowl Guacamole
5 ripe avocados
1/2 of a red onion
1 jalapeno
2 Roma tomatoes
garlic powder
salt & pepper
sour cream
lime juice
Start by dicing the red onion, jalapeno, and Roma tomatoes. Set them aside.
Next remove the avocados from their skin. The easy way to do this is to slice it down to the pit all the way around. Pull the two halves apart and remove the pit.
Next scoop the avocado from the skin with a tablespoon. Place all the avocados into a large mixing bowl and mash them. This can be done with a fork for smaller batches but I prefer a potato masher for larger portions.
Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. You want to be able to taste the garlic.
Stir in the diced red onion, jalapeno, and Roma tomatoes.
Add the lime juice and a little bit of sour cream. Stir until well mixed.
Chill for 30 minutes and serve with corn chips and your choice of frosty beverage!

Gina and I recently attended the RE/MAX of Texas Convention in Galveston. While we spent 3 busy conference days, we were able to relax a little on day 4 before driving back to Dallas.
We met up with Mark Stroeh and his wife on Sunday to enjoy a nice meal in the area and catch up. Mark and I go back to the 1980’s when we were both in the United States Air Force and stationed at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth. Mark suggested we try Jimmy’s On The Pier for lunch.
Jimmy’s is a cool little place located above the gift shop on one of the fishing piers on the Galveston seawall. The morning air was cool so we elected not to sit on the balcony. Had the weather been a bit warmer, I could see sitting outside enjoying the feel of the sun on my face and the breeze in my hair.
The food was tasty and the company was great! You really want to stop by and check out Jimmy’s the next time you’re in Galveston. For more information visit http://galvestonfishingpier.com/.
